Running the Batch Discovery utility

This procedure describes how to run the Batch Discovery utility.

To run the utility:

1. Do one of the following:
   • UNIX: Log on to a Control-M/EM account.
   • Windows: Open a command prompt window where Control-M/EM is installed.
2. Type one of the following commands:
   • Windows:

     embatchdiscovery -u <EM admin username> {-p <EM admin password> -gsr <EM sever name>[-cms <cms server name>][-empf <file name>]

   • UNIX:

     em batchdiscovery -u <EM admin username> {-p <EM admin password> -gsr <EM server name> [-cms <cms server name>] [-pf <file name>]

3. Press Enter.

   The Batch Discovery ended successfully message indicates that Batch Discovery completed the creation of csv files containing information from the Control-M/EM database.

   The CSV files can be found in Control-M/EM home directory.

   If Batch Discovery does not end successfully, a return code is displayed, as described in Batch Discovery return codes. The code can be used to detect how the application failed.
