    1. Log on to a Control-M for Databases account (UNIX)
    2. Open a command prompt window (Windows) where Control-M/EM is installed.
    3. For Windows client installations, open a command prompt window and navigate to the <EM Home>\Default\bin directory.
  3. Enter the following:

    ctmdbrst

Continue the restore procedure by following the prompts.

For Sybase or MSSQL – you are prompted for the backup device (<backupDevice>). This device was used to back up the Control‑M/Server database.

If no device is specified for restoration of a Sybase database, the default device (tapedump2) will be used. This option is not recommended.
