Order parameters

The following table describes the Order parameters you can use when ordering Jobs and Folders from the Control-M Monitoring domain.

Field

Description

Ignore scheduling criteria

The Job or Folder is placed in the active Jobs database regardless of the scheduling criteria.

Order as independent flow

When ordering a single Folder, the Job flow in a Folder is ordered independently. A unique suffix is added to every condition name.

Hold - Put the Folder/Job on Hold

The Job or Folder is in a Hold state when it enters the Monitoring domain. This enables you to make changes to a Job or Folder before it starts running.

Date selection

The date that the Job or Folder is ordered.

  • Current working date: the Job or Folder runs on the current date. The date includes the year.
  • Order now with a different order date: the Job or Folder runs on the date that you select instead of the original order date.
  • Wait for selected order date to run: the Job or Folder must wait to run on the scheduled order date. For example, time zone Jobs are ordered before their scheduled order date.

Order into

This option is for Jobs or sub Folders that belong to a SMART Folder. You can select the type of Folder in which the Jobs or sub Folders are contained.

  • New: creates a new order of the original SMART Folder that contains only the selected Job.
  • Standalone: orders the Job into a regular Folder
  • Recent: orders the Job into the SMART Folder that was ordered last, according to the Folder's order ID.
  • Selected: enables you to order the Job into a SMART Folder that was ordered previously, according to the Folder's order ID.

If the Job or sub Folder is inserted into an existing Folder or sub Folder that has already completed, the status of all parent Folders is set to "Executing". If it's not possible due to scheduling criteria, the Job remains in a WAIT_SCHEDULING status.

This parameter is ignored if the Folder that is ordered is not a SMART Folder.

Create duplicate

This option is for Jobs or sub Folders that belong to a SMART Folder.

When you select Order into > Recent or Order into > Selected, Jobs or sub Folders that already exist with the same name are duplicated instead of overwritten in the SMART Folder. This option is selected by default.

Variables

You can add variables to the Job or sub Folder, in addition to any variables that already exist in the Job definition. See Adding a variable for more information.
