Updating jobs

This procedure describes how to update jobs which enables you to perform a mass update on multiple jobs simultaneously.

To update jobs:

  1. In the Workspace, in the left pane, click the Update tab.
  2. Do one of the following:
    1. Update: Select a job attribute from the Job Attribute list, and then select an operator to apply the update. The update can be assigning a new value, or a pattern part such as replacing a substring, expression, suffix or prefix.
    2. Update Where: Click update and select Update Where. Update Where enables you to search for a specific value of a job attribute and then update it with a new value or pattern part. This consists of values and operators to help you narrow down your search and update criteria.

      You can add multiple update criteria to update multiple job attributes and values in a number of jobs all at once. The update structure you build depends on the scenario you want to achieve.

  3. At the bottom part of the navigation pane, under Update in, select where to make the updates:
  4. Click Update.

    The search results are displayed in the Update results tab in the bottom pane. To confirm your changes, select a couple of jobs in the grid and view the updated job attributes in the job properties pane on the right. Validate your new updated job attributes to ensure there no validation errors.

  5. To save your search criteria for later use, you can save them as a Preset by clicking Preset.
