Adding a Control-M/Agent

This procedure describes how to add Control-M/Agents to your environment in the Configuration domain.

NOTE: You can only define general Agent parameters in this procedure. To define advanced Agent parameters, use the Edit option after you have added the Control-M/Agent to your environment.

Before you begin:

To manage Control-M/Agents:

  1. From the Configuration domain, click and then select Agents.
  2. Click Add agent.

    The Add agent pane appears.

  3. From the Control-M/Server drop-down list, select the Control-M/Server that you want to connect the Control-M/Agent.
  4. In the Control-M/Agent Name field, type the name of the host where the Control-M/Agent is installed.
  5. In the Server to agent port field, select the port number in the Control-M/Agent computer where data is received from the Control-M/Server computer.

The value assigned to this parameter must correspond to the value assigned to the Server-to-Agent Port Number field in the configuration file on the corresponding Control-M/Agent computer.

  6. From the Tag drop-down list, select the tag that this Control-M/Agent must be assigned to.

A tag is a logical name that is used to label specific Control-M/Agents into a group with a specific authorization level. You can only define one tag per Agent. You can apply a specific tag to a Control-M/Agent or you can define your own tag with the asterisk character if you have the correct authorizations. For example, if users have been assigned the Agent tag with the value Fin*, they can define their own tag names when they add Control-M/Agents, such as FinDev or FinOps. For more information, contact your Control-M/Administrator.

  7. From the Secure Socket Layer drop-down list, select one of the following:
  8. Click Add.

The Control-M/Agent is now part of your environment and you can perform further actions on this Control-M/Agent such as, ping, enable, recycle, and delete.
