The Control-M/Tape supplied exits for MVS Tape Label Processing Exits will be linked into the relevant MVS modules in SYS1.LPALIB library. This will be done by running an SMP/E user mode on the SMP/E CSI of MVS.

An advantage in performing a static installation is that if the Control‑M/Tape real time environment (CTTINIT procedure) was inadvertently not started, all that would happen is that jobs would get the CTT134A WTOR message when they tried to access a tape. If the same circumstances existed after a dynamic installation, although jobs could write to tape, Control‑M/Tape would not recognize that this had happened.

If you choose to perform a static installation on z/OS versions prior to 2.2, perform the following actions:

• Set the DYNINTR parameter to N in the CTTPARM member definition.
• Verify that the SVC installation is specified as static. For more information, see Step 6 – Control-M/Tape SVC installation.
• Run ICE step 7.2.
