Decollation from the spool has the following characteristics:
Decollation is only carried out on classes specified in the job decollation criteria (that is, not necessarily all outputs of the job).
SYSOUTs are always copied to Control-V compressed datasets using the CDAM.
If the sysout is in a non-held output class, it is deleted (purged) from the spool.
If the sysout is in a held output class, it remains on the spool.
Control-V retrieves the printing characteristics from the spool and automatically maintains this information (for future printing).
For JES3, Control-V retrieves regular printing characteristics (for example, FORM) but not laser printing characteristics (for example, MODIFY, BURST). If you want to keep the original laser printing characteristics for SYSOUTs decollated from the spool, you have to specify them in the job decollation parameters (in the PRINT/CDAM PARMS field).
