CDAM Encryption

Many organizations require that information that is either critical to their operations or to their customers’ vital interests be managed in a secure manner. Industrial standards, such as PCI and SOX, require that Control-D reports be encrypted. The CDAM Encryption feature enables Control-D for z/OS to encrypt data written into CDAM files and to decrypt data read from CDAM files.

You can activate the Control-D CDAM Encryption with a

• general default setting
• job specific setting
• decollation mission setting

Note: The encryption is maintained throughout the CDAM file life-cycle (including the active phase, migration process, and backup procedure).
