General Information

When parameter PRINTER, DEST or CHUNKSIZE is specified, an identical parameter line is displayed.

Parameter PRINTER enables you to specify which printers in the data center can print the mission’s reports. Printers should be selected according to print needs (for example, laser printers for special formatting; impact printers for carbon copies). When multiple printers are specified, the printing mission determines which of the specified printers are open but not currently in use, and then prints on the fastest of these printers. If no printer is specified, the printer is selected from the printers defined in the installation parameters.

Parameter DEST is optional and it should normally not be used. Control-V uses the destination (or JNAME for JES3) defined in the Control-D installation parameters. If another destination is specified in the User Reports list, it is assumed to be a remote printer.

Entering CHUNKSIZE=0 or CHUNKSIZE=1 bypasses chunk processing. When CHUNKSIZE=1, the entire bundle is sent to the spool for printing using the printing characteristics of the first report in the bundle. This method can be used for printing reports that contain identical printing characteristics.

When CHUNKSIZE=0, a separate "chunk" is produced for each destination. All reports for a specific destination are contained in a single chunk.

For additional information about chunksize and printers control, see the Control-D and Control-V chapter of the INCONTROL for z/OS Administrator Guide.
