General Information

An MQ decollation mission is placed in the Active Mission File using either the ORDER or FORCE options, as appropriate, from either the Job List Screen or Category List Screen. The mission is activated as soon as a message is available in the MQ queue defined for that decollation.

Note: Decollation missions working on a single MQ QUEUE should be activated under the same control monitor.

As soon as the message is available in the MQ queue, the Control–D monitor checks if there are corresponding MQ decollation missions in the Active Missions File, and checks all ON MQ statements in these missions against the descriptor of the received MQ message

If there are several MQ decollation mission definitions with the same ON MQ selection criteria in the Active Missions File, the first decollation mission that is found, according to the priority set in the Active Missions File, processes the received message.

If no appropriate mission is found, the message is moved to the MQ escape queue as defined by the MQNOTFIND parameter in the CTDMQPRM member. For more information on defining the MQ parameters in the CTDMQPRM member, see the INCONTROL for z/OS Administrator Guide.
