Transfer Statuses

Valid transfer statuses are listed below. On terminals supporting color, each status has its own associated color indicated after the status description.

Note: To change color defaults, see your INCONTROL administrator.

Status

Explanation

INITIALIZING

Packet is being created. If the creation process fails, this status may remain. Normally, this status changes to WAIT TRANSMISSION or TRANSMITTING. Blue or white.

WAIT TRANSMISSION

Packet is waiting for the PC user to initiate the transfer. Color: Blue or White.

TRANSMITTING

Packet is currently being transferred. Color: Yellow.

TRANSMITTED

Packet has already been transferred. Color: Green.

TRANSMISSION ERROR

An error occurred during file transfer. Transfer not completed. Color: Red.

PACKET TOO LARGE

Packet size exceeded the limit set for the user’s reports in the Recipient Tree. (For more information see "Recipient Tree Definition" in this chapter of the guide.) Transfer is not attempted. Color: Pink.

DELETED

Packet has been deleted by request. It is no longer accessible. Color: Blue or White.

The following states may appear as part of a status:

State

Description

HELD

(Precedes the status.) The H (HOLD) option was specified for the packet and the packet is in held state.

(T)

(Follows the WAIT TRANSMISSION status.) Current time is outside the defined time range during which file transfers are permitted. (This time range is defined in the Recipient Tree – see "Recipient Tree Definition Screen" in this chapter of the guide.) The packet remains in WAIT TRANSMISSION status until it is within the specified time limits.
