General Information

If a unique DATASTAMP identifier was calculated and assigned to the data source, the DATASTAMP function returns this identifier. If a datastamp was not calculated, the DATASTAMP function returns 0 (zero).

This function can be used to determine if the contents of a file have changed. After file creation, save the value returned by the DATASTAMP function in the Control-M/Analyzer Database. Before processing the file, compare its current datastamp value to the value stored in the Database. For information about creating datastamps, see Datastamp Calculation.
