DO SET and DO EXTRACT statements enable the user to assign values to Database variables, as described in Rule Definition. When DO SET and DO EXTRACT statements are executed, the value of the corresponding variable in the Database is accessed and automatically locked against (made inaccessible to) other rules or online users that are processing concurrently.
