Note: This command does not use a predefined prefix in place of the original "COS" prefix.
This command is used to change Object database or Control-O/COSMOS mode, or to display information about Object databases. The command syntax is:

where

The name of a Working Object database on which to perform the requested action |
ALL |
If the COSDB command is being used to change a mode, this value indicates that the mode of the Control-O/COSMOS facility must be modified (and not a database specific mode). |
If the COSDB command is being used to display information, this value indicates that information describing all Object databases is to be displayed.
FREE |
Assign a mode of FREE to Control-O/COSMOS or to the specified Object database.

HELD |
Assign a mode of HELD to Control-O/COSMOS or to the specified Object database. No action can be performed on objects, until the mode for Control-O/COSMOS or the specified Object database is changed. |
FORCE_OK |
Assign a mode of FORCE_OK to Control-O/COSMOS or to the specified Object database. The desired status of objects in the specified databases is modified so that it matches the current status. |
NOPRE |
Assign a mode of NOPRE to Control-O/COSMOS or to the specified Object database. Control-O/COSMOS does not check prerequisites before attempting to change the status of objects in the specified databases. |
DISPLAY |
Display information about all Control-O/COSMOS databases or the specified database. Database name, mode and the name of the associated Method database are displayed for each Object database. |
The COSDB command affects specified Object databases directly. No Control-O/COSMOS rules are triggered to perform the actions requested using this command.
