SCHEDULE RBC: Basic Scheduling Parameter

Identifies a set of scheduling criteria for table scheduling.

An Exclude RBC can be specified by adding an exclamation mark (!) prefix to the RBC name. When the scheduling criteria of the Exclude RBC are satisfied the job will not be scheduled.

Mandatory for SMART Table Entities. Any alphanumeric value of 1 to 20 characters. Names for Exclude RBCs can be any alphanumeric value of 1 to 19 characters, since the first character must be an exclamation mark (!).

Optional for job scheduling definitions. Must be either a rule-based calendar value defined in the SMART Table Entity or IOA Calendar Facility, or have the value *.

A related parameter is RELATIONSHIP, which is described in RELATIONSHIP: Basic Scheduling Parameter.

Each time you specify a rule-based calendar name and press Enter, a blank SCHEDULE RBC field opens, for specifying an additional schedule RBC.

In the SMART Table Entity Definition Screen, after you specify the name (in the SCHEDULE RBC field) and type (in the LEVEL field) of the new rule-based calendar, pressing Enter opens a blank SCHEDULE RBC field for specifying an additional schedule RBC.

If you specify a Table Level RBC (by entering “TBL” in the LEVEL field), the set of scheduling parameter fields remain displayed under the SCHEDULE RBC field, allowing you to define the scheduling criteria of the new Table Level rule-based calendar.

If you specify a Control-M Level RBC (by entering “CTM” in the LEVEL field), the set of scheduling parameter fields are removed from under the SCHEDULE RBC field. These fields are unnecessary in this screen, since the scheduling criteria of the Control-M Level RBC have either already been, or will be, defined in the Calendar Manager or IOA Calendar Facility. If the scheduling criteria of the Control-M Level RBC, specified in the SCHEDULE RBC field, are not defined in either the Calendar Manager or IOA Calendar Facility, jobs based on this SMART Table Entity will fail when they are ordered.
