Adjusting the scope of the performance trace in IOAAS

Performance trace levels for IOAAS are provided with levels 10 and 12 (see Problem Determination). However since these trace levels reflect every request processed by IOAAS, performance analysis by development and support can be difficult because of the large size of the trace output.

To facilitate performance analysis, the following MODIFY command can be used to restrict the scope of the 10 and 12 performance traces to include only specific types of requests or only the actions of a specific user.

To adjust the scope of the performance traces, specify the command

where

• ioass_id is the ASID number of the Control-D Application Server address space to which the MODIFY command is submitted
• login_id is the user ID

  Parameter	Description
  REQ	Specifies the trace for one of the following request groups: LIST – for the requests dealing with the report list REPORT – for the requests dealing with a specific report SESS – for the requests related to whole session ALL – for all requests
  USER	Limits trace for only the specified user.
  SHOW	Requests printing the existing trace limitation settings.
  DROP	Cancels trace limitation.
