Japanese and French screen display considerations

In order to complete the installation of Japanese or French language support, the Japanese and French version of IOAX037 (IOA user Exit 37) should be installed. This version is used to translate specific hexadecimal values. To install, follow the steps below:

  1. Enter ICE.
  2. Select Customization.
  3. Select an environment.
  4. In the Customization screen, set the Product ID to IOA.
  5. Select Product Customization.
  6. Select Step 4 (User EXITS Installation).
  7. Select Minor Step 2 (EXITs Customization).
  8. In the select Exit field, specify either:

The source of sample exit IOAX037J or IOAX037F is tailored to support the Japanese or French language support that you have installed.

  9. Press PF3 to continue.

Note: Review the IOAX037 translation exit to verify that special characters of the selected language are translated correctly.

  10. Submit JOB UMAX037J or IOAX037F to install this version of Exit 37 in your system.

The first time that you run this job, it will complete with a condition code of 12. Examine the SMPOUT for this step, and verify that the only SMP/E command which completed with a condition code of 12 is the REJECT command. All other SMP/E commands should complete with a completion code of 0 (zero).

For further information on modifying this exit, refer to the description of Exit IOAX037 in the Exits chapter of the INCONTROL for z/OS Administrator Guide.
