The FORMCTB job allocates and formats the following data sets:

• Active Balancing File
• Backup File
• Group File
• Variables Definition File
• Variables Generations File
• Rule Activity File
• Report File

  Note: JES3 users should split the FORMCTB job in two parts, since JES3 attempts to allocate all resources prior to the job run.

• The first part of the job should include only the EXEC IOADBF,FUNC=INIT steps, which allocates the files.
• The second part of the job should include only the EXEC CTBABI steps. This part should be run immediately after the first part has finished successfully.

If the FORMCTB job is run on JES3 without this split, the job execution gives the following JCL

error:

LOCATE FOR STEP=ABI      DD=DAABF  ...  DATASET NOT FOUND ON MAIN PROCESSOR

Submit the job and verify that all steps complete with a condition code of 0.
