Before initializing Control‑M/Tape, review Changing over to Control-M/Tape.

Initialize Control‑M/Tape in verify mode by issuing the following operator command:

S CTTINIT[,PARM='MODE=VERIFY']

This command must be issued on each computer where Control‑M/Tape is to operate.

Setting the MODE parameter to VERIFY in the command

• verifies that Control‑M/Tape operating system interfaces can be applied
• verifies that the SVC can be installed
• produces additional information if a problem occurs

Then initialize Control‑M/Tape:

If you run Control‑M/Tape in parallel with another tape management product, you must

• start the Control‑M/Tape initialization procedure after the other product finishes its initialization
• terminate Control‑M/Tape before terminating the other product

To activate Control‑M/Tape automatically after any IPL, add a command to the COMMNDxx member in the SYS1.PARMLIB library to start the CTTINIT procedure.
