Step 10.2 – Adjust SYS1.PARMLIB members

This step describes modifications that must be performed in the SYS1.PARMLIB library for each computer in which Control‑M/Tape is installed.

The modifications described below take effect only after the next IPL.

  1. When a MOUNT message is detected in the operating system console, Control‑M/Tape uses the data set name in the message to determine the appropriate scratch pool. Check if the data set name is included in the MOUNT messages. If it is not included, do one of the following:

  2. If the Dynamic Dataset Stacking facility is installed, do one of the following:

    For z/OS version 1.8 and later, use the SETCON command instead of the MN command, as follows:

    SETCON MN,JOBNAMES=(ON,LOG),T=ON

    You can then use the following command to check the monitoring facility status that SETCON sets:

    D OPDATA,MONITOR

    The status of each monitoring facility is displayed, as shown in the following sample:

    CNZ1100I 03.23.22 MONITOR DISPLAY

    SPACE=OFF DSNAME=ON  TIMESTAMP=ON

    MSGTYPE   SETCON MN NUMBER OF RECEIVERS

    JOBNAMES  ON,LOG    0 CONSOLES

    SESS      OFF       0 CONSOLES

    STATUS    OFF       0 CONSOLES
