Control-M/Tape uses one type 4 SVC to perform all its real-time processing.

The next step will rename the module responsible for handling the SVC calls, so that it will conform to MVS naming standards (IGC00xxx for type 4 SVCs).

Depending on the value specified for the DYNSVC parameter in the CTTPARM member, perform either of the following actions after completing the next step:

• If the value of the DYNSVC parameter is set to Y (Dynamic SVC), BMC recommends that a comment be inserted (for example, /*SVC number nnn is used by Control-M/Tape*/) in the IEASVCxx member in the SYS1.PARMLIB library. No further action is required.
• If the value of the DYNSVC parameter is set to N (Static SVC), define the SVC. The SVC must be defined in the IEASVCxx member in the SYS1.PARMLIB library. Add the following line:

  SVCPARM svcnum,REPLACE,TYPE(4),APF(NO)

  where svcnum is the SVC number specified in the SVCNUM parameter in the CTTPARM member.

  Copy module IGC00xxx from the IOA LOAD library to the LPA library.

  IPL the system to activate the Control-M/Tape SVC.

  Note: The IPL can be postponed if you intend to use the MVS interfaces in static mode.
