Perform the major and minor steps below to install Control‑M/Tape using ICE.
Note: ecause all jobs submitted during the installation process are tailored as needed, all members referenced in the installation process are located in the ilprefa.INSTWORK library unless specified otherwise.
WARNING: Before you install Control‑M/Tape, ensure that SMF records Types 14 and 15 are saved at your site.
When Control‑M/Tape is active, it constantly tracks tape activity and updates the Control‑M/Tape Media database. If Control‑M/Tape is inactive for any period, you can use the CTTRSM utility to recover any tape activity data that was generated during that period. However, this utility will not work unless these SMF records (that is, Types 14 and 15) are saved at your site. The CTTRSM utility is described in the INCONTROL for z/OS Utilities Guide.
