Step 7.2 – When Control-M is installed

This step applies to Control‑M users only. If Control‑M is already installed, verify that the Control‑M Event Manager (CMEM) is installed, using Step 7 – Install Event Manager (CMEM)/Control-O interface. Do not continue with the Control‑O installation until the CMEM is installed.

Once Control‑O is installed and active, it assumes the functionality of the CMEM monitor. It loads the CMEM rules and communicates with the Control‑M monitor through the Communication files. Therefore, after Control‑O becomes active, the CMEM monitor is no longer required. It is necessary to bring down the CMEM monitor before trying to activate the Control‑O monitor. For details about the management of the Control‑O facilities, see the Control‑O chapter of the INCONTROL for z/OS Administrator Guide.
