The CDAM subsystem must be defined and installed in the global machine. This is required to activate CDAM from the job JCL. Under JES3, the JCL conversion is performed by the global machine. Therefore, if the CDAM subsystem is not installed in the global machine, jobs referencing CDAM in DD statements fail with JCL error.
