Step 3.1 – Control-M/Restart target libraries and members

Enter values for the parameters shown in the following table:

Note: When specifying values for parameters or subparameters that include both unit and volser fields, you must either define both the Unit and Volser fields, or leave both of them blank. Do not enter a value for only one of them.

Table 65 Target library and member parameters

Parameter

Description

Act

OLPREFR

High level data set name qualifiers (prefix) of the Control‑M/Restart Operations libraries.

  • Mandatory
  • Maximum length: 27 characters

OLUNITR

Disk unit on which Control‑M/Restart Operations libraries are placed. Specify a generic unit (for example, 3390, not SYSDA).

OLVOLR

Volume serial number on which Control‑M/Restart Operations libraries are placed.

AMPREFR

Prefix of the Control‑M/Restart archived sysout data set names that are created by the Control‑M monitor (the first qualifier in the data set name).

The Control‑M monitor writes each sysout that is read from the spool to a data set name that starts with this prefix. Only the SYSDATA components of a job are written to the compressed data set.

  • Maximum length: 7 characters, optionally including 1 period.
  • Default: CTRSYS

If Control‑D is installed, the prefix must be different than that defined for the AMPREF, AMPREFD and JB1PREF parameters in the CTDPARM member.

1

Note: SYSDATA is an IOA term used to designate the data in the following three job sysout data sets:

  • the job log (console messages)
  • the expanded JCL
  • the system output messages

EAVUSE#R

Allows allocation of Control-R CDAM files on EAV (Extended Address Volumes). Optional.

Valid values are:

  • OPT- Allows allocation on EAV. Default.
  • NO - Prevents allocation on EAV.

1

AMUNITR

Default unit for archived sysout files.

This unit is used for the SYSDATA archived by the Control‑M monitor.

If no value is set for the AMVOLR parameter (the following parameter in this table), the volumes to be used for compressed sysout files must be defined in the VATLSTnn member in the SYS1.PARMLIB library with an attribute of STORAGE.

Maximum length: 8 characters

1

AMVOLR

Default volume serial numbers for Control‑M/Restart archived sysout data sets.

Valid values are:

  • '  ' (Blank) – Use only the AMUNITR definition.
  • (xxxxxx,yyyyyy,...) – Use the AMUNITR parameter (the preceding parameter in this table), but only on the specified volumes. A maximum of six different volumes can be specified.
