How the IVP works

The IVP is contained within the job that is in the IVP member in the Control‑M JCL library.

This job does the following:

  1. It uses the CTMBLT Control‑M utility to create several SMART Tables in the Control‑M Job Scheduling library. You can view these jobs by means of Screen 2, the Control‑M job scheduling definition facility.
  2. It then orders the jobs it has created

To follow the logic and flow of this job, you must be familiar with the CTMBLT utility. IN and OUT conditions are used to chain together the SMART Tables and jobs in a triggering structure. These SMART Tables and jobs are then scheduled by means of CTMBLT Global schedule RBC parameters.

Most of the jobs that are created and ordered by this job consist of batch utilities invoked as started tasks.
