CMEM uses the JESCHAR parameter from IOAPARM to identify JES messages and trigger events. Verify that the JES command character defined in the JESCHAR IOA parameter is correct.

If DATASET/NCT2 events are defined, the jobs, started tasks, or TSUs that are monitored should have the MSGLEVEL=(1,1) parameter.

• For batch jobs, this can be set in the JCL JOB statement, or in the JES2 initialization parameter:

  JOBCLASS(h) ...MSGLEVEL=(1,1)...

• For started tasks, this can be set in the JES initialization parameter:

  JOBCLASS(STC) MSGLEVEL=(1,1)...

• For TSUs, this can be set in the JES initialization parameter:

  JOBCLASS(TSU) MSGLEVEL=(1,1)...
