BMC recommends that you create a current backup of the IOA libraries.

When backing up the installed environment, verify that the base libraries, installation libraries, operations libraries, and SMP‑related data sets are backed up. This backup can help you to restore the original IOA environment when required, so that IOA or an INCONTROL product can be reinstalled if a significant number of changes are made to the parameters, or when an unrecoverable failure occurs during installation.
