IMS/DC requires that each terminal used to communicate with it must be defined to IMS/DC before a connection can be established. From the IMS/DC point of view, there is no difference between a real SNA LUTYPE2 terminal and a KOA terminal. Therefore, each KOA terminal must be defined as part of the IMS/DC GEN. This fixes the characteristics of the terminal, and KOA is not able to specify the characteristics of the terminal according to script commands such as SCREENSIZE and COLOR.
