Step 22.3 – Select LOGMODE tables

A Logon Mode, or LOGMODE, is a set of session parameters that identifies the characteristics of the terminal, such as screen size and the ability to display extended data stream, and the protocol it uses to communicate with other VTAM applications. LOGMODEs are grouped in a Logon Mode table, which is called MODETAB.

KOA simulates a SNA LUTYPE2 and supports all models of terminals, models 2, 3, 4, 5, both with and without extended data stream capabilities. Corresponding LOGMODEs must therefore be defined to VTAM. The SYS1.VTAMLST library, which is supplied when installing VTAM, contains (in the MODETAB ISTINCLM) standard required LOGMODEs. However, if other LOGMODEs are used, specify in each terminal definition the MODETAB name where the corresponding LOGMODEs are defined.
