Step 21.2 – Shout to Control-M/EM parameters

When a Shout message from Control‑M is destined for Control‑M/EM, the Shout message is written to the M2G file and distributed to Control‑M/EM by the Control‑M Application Server. To achieve this, you must insert values for the parameters in the following table:

Parameter

Description

ECSDEST

Default destination for Shout messages sent to Control‑M/EM.

  • Mandatory
  • Default: ECS

UECS2ECS

Whether Shout messages with the DEST destination parameter set to U-ECS should also be sent to Control‑M/EM.

Valid values are:

  • Y – Send messages destined for U-ECS to Control‑M/EM. Default.
  • N – Do not send messages destined for U-ECS to Control‑M/EM.

OPER2ECS

Whether Shout messages whose DEST destination parameter is set to OPER or OPER2 should also be sent to Control‑M/EM.

Valid values are:

  • Y – Send messages destined for OPER or OPER2 to Control‑M/EM.
  • N – Do not send messages destined for OPER or OPER2 to Control‑M/EM. Default.

OPER2CON

Whether Shout messages with the DEST destination parameter set to OPER or OPER2 should also be sent to the console.

Valid values are:

  • Y – Send messages destined for OPER or OPER2 to the console. Default.
  • N – Do not send messages destined for OPER or OPER2 to the console.

M2GSIZE

Size, in blocks, of the Shout to Control‑M/EM file, which is also known as the M2G file.

  • Mandatory
  • Default: 1000.
