Configuring Control-M/CM application server (CTMCAS) (Optional)

The Control-M Configuration Manager application server (CTMCAS) is an optional feature which supports Control-M Configuration Manager on Windows.

Control-M Configuration Manager (CCM) enables you to manage all of the administrative tasks of Control-M from one focal location. Using Control-M Configuration Manager you can perform various tasks and configure elements within Control-M.

One of the elements that you can configure is Control-M for z/OS, including the Control-M application server (CTMAS).

CTMCAS together with IOAGATE functions as the Control-M administration agent on z/OS.

It is possible to either dedicate one IOAGATE for CTMCAS and another IOAGATE for CTMAS, or include them both in the same IOAGATE (possibly with other applications).

Note: If the Control-M Configuration Manager does not display updated data about a specific application that you have installed, restart the Control-M Application Server.

When a Control-M for z/OS datacenter is defined in Control-M Configuration Manager, the user can specify either discovery mode or direct mode.

The Control-M Configuration Manager application server reports the status of the following Control-M components:

The Control-M Configuration Manager application server can also be configured to change the status of the Control-M monitor that it controls according to the Desired State set in the CCM.

The Control-M Configuration Manager application server can either issue a message whenever the actual status of the monitor is different from the desired status, or it can issue an MVS START or STOP command to start or stop the Control-M monitor whenever it needs to be started or stopped.
