Step 7.10 – Adding IOA structures to the CFRM (optional)

To maintain shared variables and perform Sysplex-wide AutoEdit processing, IOA requires list, cache, and lock structure entries in the CFRM policy couple data set. These entries define IOA structure information to the Coupling Facility.

Note: Although this chapter explains the basic steps involved, for detailed information on the configuration of the XAE facility as a Coupling Facility application, see the IBM document z/OS V1Rx MVS Setting Up a Sysplex.

After preparing the space requirements for the list, cache and lock structures, you can add IOA structures to the CFRM policy. To do so, perform the following:

  1. Ensure slots are available for adding IOA structures to the policy.
  2. Verify that the available Coupling Facility storage space is large enough to contain the maximum size for the structure data.
  3. Create and run the JCL to add the IOA structures to the policy, meaning, to update the policy data set.

These steps are described in the following topics.

Note: IOA Coupling Facility structures do not support ALTER or REBUILD processing.
