Parameters

Table 17 IOA Conditions file space calculation

Parameter

Description

CNDREC#

Specifies the number of physical records in a logical record.
Number of conditions per day (meaning, number of records allocated for each day of the month in the IOA Conditions file).

This parameter defines the number of records in each slot on the file. Each slot can contain any number of records from 1 through 1020.

Prerequisite conditions in the IOA Conditions file are held in 32 slots. The first 31 slots contain only conditions that have a date reference to a specific day of the month. For example, the condition JOBA‑OK 0303 belongs to the slot for the 3rd day of the month. The 32nd slot is used for prerequisite conditions that contain the STAT attribute instead of a date. Since each prerequisite condition occupies 24 bytes (48 bytes for long conditions), each record can contain a maximum of 32760 / 24 = 1365 prerequisite conditions (32760 / 48 = 682 if all the conditions are long conditions).

Usually, a value of 1 or 2, which provides 1365 or 2730 conditions per day, is sufficient.
