Installation Steps

Installation steps are based on ICE. For instructions on how to start and use ICE, see the INCONTROL for z/OS Installation Guide: Installing.

1. In the ICE main screen, select Customization.
2. Verify that IOA is specified in the Product field, and that YES is specified in the Enforce Step Order field.
3. Select Product Customization.
4. Select major step 4, "User EXITs Installation."
5. Select minor step 2, "EXITs Customization."
6. In the USERMOD Creation screen, enter the name of the exit (or roof exit) to install or customize. This process creates the installation job for the exit.

   Default exit names are seven characters in length (for example, CTBX001, IOAX006). To install or customize a localized (special) version of one of these exits, enter its full eight-character name (for example, CTDX022D, CTOX001V).

7. If necessary, verify exit installation job source copy. Use the END command (PF3/PF15) to receive the application job source copy.

   If ICE locates an existing copy of the exit installation job in the CUSTEXIT library, the Exit Source Copy screen is displayed. You can use the existing copy of the exit installation job found in the CUSTEXIT library by replying Y (Yes) to the prompt on this screen. Alternatively, you can replace the job with the original from the SAMPEXIT library by replying N (No). The default is Y (that is, use the existing job in the CUSTEXIT library).

8. If necessary, verify application job source copy.

   If ICE locates an existing copy of the application job in the CUSTEXIT library, the USERMOD Application Job screen is displayed. You can use the existing copy of the application job in the CUSTEXIT library by replying Y (Yes) to the prompt on the screen. Alternatively, you can replace the job with the original from the CUSTEXIT library by replying N (No). The default is Y, (that is, use the existing job in the CUSTEXIT library).
