Example 2 – Filtering by ‘from’ ODATE and ‘to’ ODATE

The end user uses a filter that contains ‘from’ and ‘to’ ODATEs, a fully specified Category, and Job name.

The alternative index key should be composed of Category, Job name, ODATE, and Recipient. In the CTDUFANX section of the INCONTROL for z/OS Utilities Guide, see Example 2.

The alternative index entries which have a key between value composed of specified Category, Job name, and 'from' ODATE and value composed of specified Category, Job name, 'to' ODATE and any Recipient will be retrieved. Every entry will be checked to see if the Recipient field matches the specified recipient.

The same results will be obtained if the alternative index is composed of Job name, Category, ODATE, and Recipient.
