Problem Determination

The IOA Archive Server is supplied with internal debugging facilities. Normally, these facilities are dormant. However, if required (for example, your BMC technical representative requests debugging information), you can activate the debugging facility as follows:

  1. You can set the debugging level either when starting the IOA Archive server or during normal operation.

The debugging level can be any value from 0 (no debugging) to 255. The required debugging level, and instructions to set it with a START or MODIFY command, are supplied by your BMC technical representative.

When the IOA Archive server debugging facility is successfully activated, the following message is displayed on the operator console:

IOA128I  IOASMON – DEBUG LEVEL IS SET TO level

Note: You should not activate the IOA Archive server with parameter DEBUG on a regular basis for the following reasons:

  2. Debugging information is printed to DD statements PRTDBG and DADUMP of the IOA Archive server procedure.
  3. When problem determination procedures are completed, turn off the debugging facility by issuing operator command:

    F  IOASMON,SET DEBUG=0

When the IOA Archive Server debugging facility is successfully deactivated, the following message is displayed on the operator console:

IOA128I IOASOM – DEBUG LEVEL IS SET TO 0
