The Control‑V IOASMON Archive server retrieves reports from the EMC Centera storage system through the Centera SDK.
When a Centera media is activated, the first TCP/IP connection is opened to the Centera node. The TCP/IP connection is used communicating between Centera and IOASMON. These connections remain open, but idle, except when they are being used to process Centera requests and responses.
Each time a Control-D component sends a request to IOASMON, IOASMON determines whether there are any available (currently idle) TCP/IP connections.
The number of connections to Centera is limited by the MAXCONN parameter in the corresponding media section of IOASPRM.
