Control-D/Image

Control‑D/Image facilitates the viewing of scanned images of documents such as bank checks, trade invoices, monthly bills, and applications for insurance. It enables output from commercial imaging equipment to be imported into either Control‑D or Control‑V for decollation, distribution, and viewing, and into Control‑V for archiving and indexed retrieval.

If the appropriate password has been obtained and entered in member PASDIMG in the IOA PARM library, Control‑D and Control‑V support the decollation, indexing and archiving of PC-originated image files and binary large object (BLOB) files. Archived files can be retrieved through indexes for viewing using Control‑D/Page On Demand and Control‑D/WebAccess Server associated file support.

The PC files are packed by a PC utility (CTVPACK) into a flat control file whose first line contains file identification and indexing information. The packed files are uploaded to the mainframe and transformed into CDAM files that can be migrated and retrieved by Control‑V.

You can also pack the Image binary files on the mainframe directly to a Control‑D CDAM file, or to spool, by using the CTVPACK REXX utility.
