CTVINDEXnn parameters

The value assigned to each CTVINDEXnn parameter defines a Control-V hierarchical index that incorporates the values of an ACIF main index. The two digit number suffix indicates the Control-V level of the target index that is created during a printing mission with STORE=Y.

In addition, to define deferred printing by index, the PRINT and TYPE values can be assigned to CTVINDEXnn parameters. The PRINT value specifies the name of the print mission that will be used to print by index (that is, print the sections of reports corresponding to the index values). The TYPE value specifies the scope of the print mission, and can be one of the following: E (= Explicitly), A (= All), or S (=Subscribe). When TYPE=E (which is the default), report sections are printed for predefined index values. The predefined index values, subscribed in advanced for printing using the CTVUPINV utility, include specific printing parameters. When TYPE=S, report sections are printed for index values with defined subscribe records. The index values can be subscribed either by the end-user with Control-D/WebAccess or by the administrator with the CTVUPINV utility. When TYPE=A, report sections for all available index values are processed. Report sections for index values subscribed for printing with corresponding printing parameters are printed according to their settings. All other index values are printed according to default parameters of the original report.

For more information about hierarchical index levels and deferred printing by index, see the online facilities chapter in the Control-D and Control‑V User Guide.

Example

Six AFP index names can be converted to Control-V indexes based on the following specifications:

These specifications cause the Control-V printing mission to build the following two hierarchical index structures:

The print_mission1 print mission will print the report sections corresponding to the index values subscribed for printing.

In addition, the print_mission2 print mission will print the report sections corresponding to all the available index values.

Every AFP main index that is not specified in a CTVINDEXnn parameter is converted to a Control-V level 01 main index.
