The Control-M monitor scans its active environment file and other files to determine when jobs are submitted. It submits jobs, tracks their execution and analyzes the results.

If Control-O is not installed and the Control-M CMEM facility is active, a CMEM monitor processes CMEM rules that were triggered by events in the system.
