Writing performance records

Performance records are accumulated at given time intervals controlled by the PFMINT parameter. (For more information, see the INCONTROL for z/OS Installation Guide: Customizing). At each interval the following process occurs:

You can use the PERFDATA Control-M modify command, at any time, to write the accumulated data to SMF records. The PERFDATA command triggers the same process as above. Messages generated by the PERFDATA command are directed to the console issuing the command. For more information, see Accumulating performance data.

By setting a trace level it is also possible to specify that performance records be written to the system log as they are being accumulated. For each component of the Control‑M monitor there are specific trace levels and error messages which cause the performance records written by that component to be written immediately.
