Daylight Saving Time Considerations

In the IBM manual MVS Setting up a Sysplex, IBM recommends that you do not reset your time-of-day clock to switch to, or from, daylight saving time. Instead, IBM recommends that you set the time-of-day clock to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), and use the CLOCKnn member in the PARMLIB library to adjust this time setting as appropriate for the local time at your site.

The following sections discuss adjusting the time setting forward or backward by one hour, using the CLOCKnn member, to take account of daylight saving time. All examples assume 02:00 a.m. as the time of change.
