Starting Control-O Communication Support (IOAGATE)

Verify that the IOA Gateway has been successfully installed before trying to start IOAGATE. For information about installing the IOA Gateway, see the IOA chapter in the INCONTROL for z/OS Installation Guide: Installing.

Verify that Control‑O table CTOGATEI is loaded from the Control‑O Rules library. This rule table includes a set of rules that executes the remote request. It must be loaded for every Control‑O monitor that communicates using IOAGATE, Sysplex or Control‑O/COSMOS in a Sysplex.

  1. To start IOAGATE processing, first initialize the mainframe components. Control‑O users can then proceed to use the communication channel.
  2. Activate the IOA Gateway using operator command:

    S IOAGATE

ECAPARM communication parameters (APPLIDS, PORT) can be overridden by parameters specified in the EXEC PARM of IOAGATE. For information about ECAPARM parameters, see the IOA chapter of the INCONTROL for z/OS Installation Guide: Installing.

    For example

    S IOAGATE,APPLID=CTOLUA1

The Control‑O Application Server (called CTOAS) is automatically activated by the IOA Gateway.

  3. To deactivate the IOA Gateway, use operator command

    P IOAGATE

This also deactivates the Control‑O Application Server (CTOAS).
