Loading Rules

Control‑O loads rules into ECSA only in the following situations:

• The Control‑O instance is the first instance of Control‑O started up in the IOA environment.
• The operator issues one of the following Control‑O modify commands: F, O, or C.

  The rule list is the list of rule tables loaded by Control‑O during startup. The DD statements DACTMLST and DARULLST point to the rule list. To load all rules in the rule list only, issue one of the following Control-O modify commands:

  F controlo,O=ALL,REBUILD

  F controlo,F=ALL,REBUILD

  where controlo is the name of the Control‑O monitor.

A user orders or forces the Control‑O rules table from the Table list of the Rule Definition facility (screen OR), or from the CMEM Rule Definition facility (screen C).

During the load process, the monitor performs logical checks to verify the correctness of the rule.

In case of an error, the rule is rejected and an error message is sent to the IOA Log and the Control-O monitor DD statement SYSPRINT.
