Internal Trace facility

IOA provides an internal Trace facility that can print internal tracing records and the contents of internal data areas. Under normal circumstances, the Trace facility is dormant. However, if required, that is, if BMC Customer Support has requested tracing information, the Trace facility can be activated.

Use these facilities only when requested by BMC Customer Support.

Tracing can be requested for specific components. Each component has its own identifying numbers for purposes of producing the trace. These numbers are called trace levels. One or more trace levels can be activated at the same time. Trace levels can be modified during execution.

BMC Customer Support provides you with a list of the trace levels that are used, depending on the problem encountered.

Internal tracing can be activated when the monitor is started or during monitor execution, and it can be modified or stopped during monitor execution. The internal trace setting can be displayed.
