SNMP Destination Table

The IOA Shout facility enables the user to specify messages to be sent to particular destinations, including SNMP destinations, upon the occurrence of specified events. These situations are handled by defining SNMP IP addresses in an SNMP Destination table, which consists of a site-defined list of SNMP IP addresses and logical SNMP destination names. The list defines the following items for each SNMP address:

Multiple SNMP Destination tables can be defined, one of which is defined as the default. This SNMP Destination table is loaded when the product-specific monitor, such as the Control-M monitor, is started. A different SNMP Destination table can be loaded using operator commands.

Note: Shout messages are directed by the product-specific monitor to the Dynamic Destination table in memory.

When a change is made to the SNMP Destination Table in memory, and the change should be implemented immediately, the table is reloaded into memory for each product memory. For information about loading and reloading SNMP Destination tables in memory, see IOA Administration.
