This step will check that all primary and mirror libraries are available, and will ask you to free any that are not. The primary and mirror datasets will then be renamed in order to activate the upgrade that was APPLYed to the mirror libraries. Since, the ICE (LOAD & INSTALL) libraries must also be renamed, you must exit ICE after submitting this job, wait for the job to complete, and then re-enter ICE.
Ensure that all INCONTROL address spaces are down.
Select Minor Step 7, Activate Upgrade.
Submit the job.
Exit ICE.
Re-enter ICE when the job has completed.
If the job does not complete successfully, the following two additional options will become available for rerunning this job (the 'S' option will no longer be available):
R - Retry Activate - This option will resubmit the job in an attempt to complete the Activate Upgrade step by first renaming the primary libraries for fallback, and the mirror libraries to the primary library names.
K - Rollback Activate - This option will resubmit the job to rollback the parts of the Activate Upgrade step that previously succeeded before the failure. If this option is used and completes successfully, the step Status will be set to 'RolldBack', which is functionally equivalent to the step not having been run (status 'Not Run'). At that point the 'S' option can again be used to submit the job, when required.
Note: After activating the upgrade, the Fallback option will still be available, provided that the compatibility mode has not been changed.
