Extract and monitor jobs using the ctmextract utility
This section describes how to monitor and extract SAP jobs to Control-M by using the Control-M Extraction ctmextract utility. The ctmextract utility can be used in the following circumstances:
When you create one or more mirror image jobs by using criteria identical to specific jobs already running in SAP. These jobs are monitored using the Control-M ctmcreate utility (but are not submitted as jobs to be executed by Control-M). This enables Control-M to track the progress of the actual job in SAP. This mirror image is stored in Active Jobs in the Control-M/Server database. For more information, see Monitoring SAP jobs with ctmextract.
Define one or more jobs in Control-M, by using criteria identical to that of specific jobs defined in the SAP database. The Control-M ctmdefine utility stores these jobs in the Control-M definition environment. For more information, see Extracting job definitions with ctmextract.
