Configuring SSL communication between Control-M Web Services and Messaging API and Control-M/EM

This procedure describes how to configure SSL communication between Control-M Web Services and Messaging API and Control-M/EM.

To configure SSL communication between Control-M Web Services and Messaging API and Control-M/EM:

1. Enable SSL for CORBA on the Control-M/EM installation.

   For more information see the section about CORBA servers and clients, see Configuring Control-M/EM components in Control-M SSL Guide.

2. Configure the ORB implementation for SSL.

   To configure SSL in the Control-M Web Services and Messaging API, see the following sections in the Control-M SSL Guide:

   • Configuring Control-M/EM API JacORB, Configuring NamingViewer (browser for Naming Service), and Configuring BMC Batch Impact Manager
   • SSL parameters for JacORB in the jacorb.properties file
     • SSL parameters for JacORB are in the jacorb.properties file. This file is located in the <Control-M BPI API>/emapi/9.0.00/ directory.
     • Control-M/EM API communication

       MAPI_DIR is <Control-M API>/emapi/9.0.00

     • The directive for clients on IBM is also relevant for all IBM JRE. For example when using IBM WebSphere.
   • SSL certificates

     Follow the instructions where emapi_root is <Control-M API>/emapi/9.0.00

3. Restart Control-M Web Services and Messaging API Web Services Server and Control-M Web Services and Messaging API Messaging Server.
4. Enable SSL in Control in Control-M Web Services and Messaging Account utilities by doing one of the following:
   • Web Services: From Control-M for Web Services API - Web Services Account Management dialog box do the following:
     1. From the Tools menu, select Options.
     2. In the General Settings dialog box, select the Enable SSL checkbox.
     3. Click OK.
   • Messaging: From Control-M for Messaging API - Messaging Account Management dialog box do the following:
     1. In the EM Servers tab, select the SSL checkbox for the relevant account.
     2. Click OK.
